Step 1: You will need to have a catalogue (.db3 or .xml). Open this up in the Catalogue Creator. You will see a "Scheme" tab that you can go to.
Step 2: Click the "Create New Design" button.
Step 3: Click the pencil to change the name of the Scheme Design. Note that if multiple languages are supported in the catalogue, you can set them here.
Step 4: Optionally, you can add an icon and/or change the key for the scheme design.
- The icon selected here will be used to represent the scheme in the Scheme Explorer.
- The key is necessary if the catalogue creator wants to make it possible for developers to pull a specific scheme from a pool of published schemes. It’s supposed to mimic the behaviour of pulling products, or anything at all from the catalogue.
Step 5: At this point you can save the Scheme Design. It can be saved in the same way Catalogues are saved.
Step 6: Optionally, you can export the Scheme as a Prop Scheme Layout (.pslayout) at anytime. You can also import or export a Prop Scheme Layout here as well.
Step 7: Optionally, you can toggle which Scheme Explorer Grouping code to be used. If there's vendor, the drop down list will show the vendor's code. If no vendor code exists, the enterprise code will be listed. You can learn more about these Product Catalogues.
