The Workgroup storage option allows multiple users on a common network to share downloaded Extensions. The first user on the network to download an Extension or to update an Extension not only has it automatically installed on their machine, but a copy of it is saved on their network. The next person who needs to download or update an Extension will then get it from the network instead of having to get it from the Web.

Server side

Setup a folder on your network that each CET user has writing permission to use.
(Example: H:\CETStorage). Recommended space available is 1 GB.

Client side

1. Open CET.
2. Go to the Control Panel in the File menu found in the top left-hand corner of CET.
3. Go to the Network tab and click on the Workgroup Extension Storage button.
   

4. A new window will appear that is titled Workgroup Extension Storage Settings. In this window, do the following:

   • Check the checkbox Use Workgroup Extension Storage on this computer.
     
   • Browse for the file location that you created on the server where the files will be stored.  For example: (H:\CETStorage)
