With the Carpets and coverings tools, you can create a flat custom shape that will appear in 2D and 3D as flooring. Use the Material Explorer to paint carpets and coverings to represent variation in floor materials.
Rectangular covering – the fastest way to create a basic rectangular covering.
Circular covering – the fastest way to create a basic circular covering.
Custom covering – lets you define a custom shape. Each time you click, you add a new point to the shape.
Editing Carpets and Coverings
To edit the shape (add points, switch points from straight to curved, etc.), use the editing tools in the Add levels section.
To remove points, use the red X tool in the 2D or 3D toolbar. When you hover this tool over the Carpet or Covering, use your space bar on your keyboard to check the Remove points checkbox in the properties box that appears.
Carpets and coverings cannot be edited or selected when not in the Architectural component tab. Any edits you want to make must be made when you are in this tab. The only exception is that you can still paint carpets and coverings from any tab when you have the Material Explorer open.
After adding a carpet or covering, you can edit it from the quick properties:
