News & Changes
General Usability Updates
- CET now alerts users when attempting to close the application while a background install is in progress
- As previously communicated, the ‘Email Drawing’ feature under the Help menu has now been removed. We encourage users to use the ‘Send Feedback’ option for bug reports and feature requests, and send drawings via their own email client for better formatting and attachment support.
Smarter Drawing Interactions
- Objects you are about to select will now be highlighted when holding your mouse over them. This is enabled by default but can be disabled in Control Panel → Views → Highlight component under cursor.
- Symbols that are within a selection but not visible in the active View Mode will now be displayed as transparent shapes, letting you see edits you perform to them. This behavior is now the default, but can be disabled in Control Panel → Views → Show hidden components in selection.
Enhancements to Calculations
- Introduced a new 'Lead Time' column in the Calculations dialog, which auto-fills from manufacturer catalogs or can be defined by the Extension.
- Improved Excel export from Calculations with enhanced data formatting, support for project details, cell highlighting, and preview images.
Control Panel & Settings Options
- Added a new ‘Control Panel’ setting to toggle install text display in drawings between part numbers and Ind. Tag data, without affecting values in ‘Calculations’ or exports (SIF, XML, PMX).
Please note that this is not applicable to the Kitchen & Bath Edition of CET.
Categorization Tools and Part Tagging
- Added an uncheck button to the Categorization dialog that unchecks the selected category and all of its subcategories, making it faster to disable deeply nested items.
- The ‘Add extra categories on insert’ category preview now has a bright blue background for user-added categories to improve visibility and awareness.
- A 'Sort' button has been added to the 'Part Tagging' dialog that will sort all tags in the selected category in alphanumerical order. It alternates between ascending and descending order.
User Feedback Integration
- Added a popup dialog in CET for users to receive curated surveys and provide feedback.
Improvements
Drawing Tools & Visual Aids
Updated the tooltips for 2D Lines in the Drawing Tools to clarify the difference between grouped lines that stay connected and those that do not.
The Ruler tool used in the 3D view has been improved to be readable from a top-down view and now measures without depth when using side views in Orthographic 3D view.
Dimensions displaying imperial units with fractions will now always show a denominator that is a power of 2, improving readability and consistency, including in older drawings.
CAD & DWG Handling

Performance & Stability
Improved performance of CET when there are multiple Extensions and component tabs installed.
Improved the reliability of downloads and synchronization of catalogue resources embedded by CET Extensions.
Crash reporting in CET has been improved by moving report uploads to a separate process, allowing reports to send even if CET crashes. We recommend excluding CETReportUploader.exe from antivirus scanning to avoid upload issues.
UI & Labeling Enhancements
The labels on buttons in the CAD sections of Tools and Paper Tools have been updated for visual consistency.
Improved sorting in the Part Tag dialog so that numbered tags now appear in correct numerical order (e.g., ‘Tag 10’ after ‘Tag 9’).
Changed the French translations of the TAG part tag categories for better consistency.
Renamed the OK button in the Project Info dialog to 'Apply'.

CET Edition Specific Release Notes
News & Changes
New Beta Feature: Orthographic View Support with Camera Presets
For the Commercial Interiors Edition of CET, we're expanding the 3D navigation options in the workspace. In addition to the default perspective view, you can now switch to an orthographic view — ideal for layout planning, alignment, and spatial organization.
Orthographic mode is advantageous when:
- Checking alignment and spacing without depth perspective.
- Working from fixed, standard angles.
We're also adding certain camera positions that are typical for working in orthographic mode, but they can also be accessed from perspective mode: Top, Front, Back, Left, and Right. The view from these positions gives you a clear head-on look at your design, helping ensure everything lines up just right.
Catalog Browser & Query Dialog
Enhanced Product Data Customization for Catalogue Browser objects. Catalogue Browser objects now support modification of queried product data options; giving you greater flexibility in managing product information.
Added an ‘Add Option’ button to the Query dialog for inserting customizable special options.
Enabled copy functionality in the Query dialog, supporting full grid, row, or individual cell copying with formatting.
Added visual highlights in the Query dialog: blue for specials and purple for custom-added options.
Calculations
Added ‘Attribute Note’ and ‘Attribute Description’ columns to the Calculations dialog, with tooltips and double-click support for editing. These columns are now included in PMX, SIF, OFDA XML, and Excel exports.
Material Portal
Added a Help dialog in the Material Portal for workflow guidance.
Fixes & Enhancements
