About
The Catalogue Downloader is an optional solution that replaces the existing downloader (File Transfer Dialog) and is now a separate instance outside of CET. With this improved version you can select a catalogue to see more information, pause and resume downloads, and retry individual or failed files. This application is available to all CET users. The benefits of using the Catalogue Downloader include:
- Better performance
- Improved interface
- Reduce time to fix issues
- Reliable downloads
Getting Started
If you would like to opt-in to use this version of the Catalogue Downloader, follow these steps:
- Select the File tab
- Select Control Panel
- Select Catalogues
- Check Use New Downloader
Once you've checked the Use New Downloader box you will be prompted to restart.
Opening the Catalogue Downloader
To open the Catalogue Downloader, follow these steps:
- Click on the arrow in the Task Tray
- Identify the Catalogue Downloader icon
- Click the icon to open
Shortcut Icon in CET
The Catalogue downloader icon is found in the Top area of CET next to the Briefcase icon. This icon acts as a shortcut to open the Catalogue downloader and notifies you of its current status.
Here is a list of the different possible icons and the corresponding status:

Navigating the Catalogue Downloader
Use the numbers in the image to correlate the identified function in the following list:
- Click to Pause or Resume catalogue downloads listed as In Progress.

In Progress will list the catalogues being downloaded.
- Click on the arrow to expand/collapse the list.
- Click and drag the icon to rearrange the downloading order.

Recently Complete will list the catalogues which have been downloaded.
- Click on the arrow to expand/collapse the list.
- Select a catalogue name to view its details in the Info section (see #5).
- Info will display the number of catalogues remaining, MB/second, and catalogues failed. When a catalogues is selected. Info will display the status of the catalogue, time started, total file size, and an Open Folder hyperlink.
- The (ellipses) in the bottom left corner provides these additional resources: Settings, Open Logs Folder, Contact Support, and Report Issue.
- The (question mark) icon opens a Help window with additional information.
- Hover over a catalogue to generate help text with catalogue information and download progress.
Troubleshooting
If at any point you are experiencing an issue with the Catalogue Downloader, turn the toggle off by unchecking the option in the Catalogue tab located in the Control Panel.
