Without these exceptions, CET will run slower than normal, or might not run at all. Files that should be excluded from active scanning include:
- CETDesigner.exe
- CETRenderserver.exe
- CETSave.exe
- CETDownloader.exe
- CETDCDownload.exe
- CETDCUpload.exe
- CETLaunch.exe
- CETLauncher.exe
- CETHelper.exe
- ConfiguraDownloader.exe
Alternatively, you can exclude the following folders and their contents from scanning:
- %localappdata%\CET Data\
- %localappdata%\CETCatalog
- %localappdata%\Configura
- %localappdata%\ConfiguraDownloader\
- %programfiles%\Configura CET Designer\
- %programfiles%\CET\
- %programdata%\Configura\
Some users may experience problems with saving files, downloading updates, or rendering with the advanced graphics engine if these exceptions are not in place.
We have seen frequent issues with Webroot, these issues can range from problems updating to opening CET. Please make sure that file exceptions are in place to prevent these problems.
If you are using Sophos Intercept X, there are known issues that will prevent CET from running properly. Please make sure that file exceptions are in place to prevent these problems. You can read more in the Sophos online help: Service and Support (sophos.com)
Some antivirus will not accept environment variables such as %programfiles% in which case you will need to use C:\Program Files\, and in the case of %localappdata% C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Local\CET Data\
